Jean has been volunteering at our shop in Erdington since August 2011. “When I became a widow I was having a hard time, which made me want to volunteer.” Jean told us. Volunteering has enabled Jean to get out of the house more and meet new people. “I feel that I am doing something useful with my time and it keeps me busy. It’s a nice friendly little shop and I have made some new friends since I came here. It helps me to stay happy.”
