“I used to come into the Wylde Green shop a lot with my husband. One day the manager made a joke about me working there, and since I got on well with her I thought I’d give it a go. I started few days later.” Eight years on and Sue is still enjoying volunteering with us. She particularly likes working on the till so she can speak to more people and have a laugh with customers. “Volunteering here has brought me out of my shell more. I was a bit subdued before and it’s helping me.” From her time working with customers Sue has learned how to handle difficult situations and being careful about what she says. “I can’t find any faults with working here, it’s been a pleasure.“
